UPDATE March 2025. Stayed here again and as before I had a very pleasant experience the rooms are clean comfortable the bed was awesome clean linens they have a bathtub which was super great with the rainy blustery weather we are having. They are also pet friendly but there is a fee unless their service animals. I had requested a bottom floor room and they were quite accommodating for me the rates are extremely reasonable and there's a small refrigerator and microwave in the room along with a good size TV with remote. They also have free Wi-Fi but in my opinion it's a bit slow. Perhaps due to a lot of usage, I'm just guessing The water was hot every time I went to take a shower or bath. Again I highly recommend the Sumner motor inn. I know I'll be back. Jan 2025. Got a room here. Rates are reasonable and they accept pets. The room had a microwave, mini fridge and a tub plus wifi was available. I was able to upgrade to a king bed for a few bucks and request a room on the ground level. The staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms are non-smoking and smoking is only permitted on the other side of the parking, lot where they have an ash tray/can for butts. It was fairly quiet with one exception of an intoxicated female crashing into the office with her car. She was arrested and car towed. Otherwise it was great. I definitely would recommend this motel if you're in or around Sumner. Will be staying here again in the future.

It’s a quaint little place with simple rooms that are not carpeted, which are very clean. The staff is super nice. I left an extra set of keys behind and they called me immediately. I highly recommend.

We really like this place. Location is great, close to downtown and lots of parking. It’s older but very comfortable. Rooms are spotless, well maintained, and cleaned, comfortable beds. Very quiet, which is surprising considering how busy it is. Office lobby has excellent supply of snacks, drinks, breakfast bars, cheese and crackers, etc. not in vending machines, rather displayed on shelves so easy to get. Good WiFi connection too.

I stayed here when I came over for my grandson's birthday party this past weekend. I would absolutely stay here again just to deal with the employees, particularly Amanda. She is a treasure and went above and beyond for me. She recommended a great Italian restaurant, fetched extra pillows, and her smile lit up the place. The mattress on the bed was the most comfortable I have ever had in a motel and I have stayed in every hotel/motel up and down the Kent Valley, even the "fancy" ones, on my visits to family in Bonney Lake. New management is currently updating the whole place, painting, replacing doors, etc. Right now, the rooms are plain, but very clean. The price is right and the staff is friendly and helpful. I did see some shady people hanging around the parking lot both nights I was there, but they ignored me and mostly sat on the median strip, smoking. It's definitely worth giving the Sumner Motor Inn a chance as they work to improve the building. I'll be back for sure.

Very basic! Checking in went well, very nice gal! She got us extra blankets and pillows. Room very basic no where to hang clothes, but price was right for the night. Pillows were horrible so bring your own. Bed comfortable. Microwave and fridge. A/C plenty of parking.

This was my first time in Sumner, I chose this Inn because I’m on a tight budget. I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and funny( female that checked me in). I have an issue with bad beds when I sleep at a motel but the bed here was comfy and clean. The room was clean. The shower was also a plus. I would come back to this location.

A great little Motel in a quaint little town. Great for a stay on the to/fromMt. Rainier, Crystal Mountain, hiking in the Cascades, or Lake Tapps. The management and staff are very friendly and super helpful. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Walkable to many restaurants and shops.

Had a fantastic 5-day stay at Summer Motor Inn! The room was spotless, the bed was super comfortable, and the customer service was outstanding. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a clean, cozy, and welcoming place to stay!

Management and employees : The employees and staff were incredibly kind, and welcoming. Providing extraordinary customer service. The management went above and beyond to meet individual needs . The room accommodations at Sumner Motor Inn: Truly exceeded my expectations. The bed was incredibly comfortable with pillows that felt like sleeping on a cloud – it provided the perfect night's rest. The room was equipped with a TV offering premium channels, providing a great variety of shows and entertainment options. The presence of a small dining area was a convenient touch, allowing for in-room dining.
